CHARACTER CASTING

MAIN PROTAGONIST:

Most people think that an exciting and well-developed plot is what makes a story good, but even the most intriguing plot won’t hold someone’s attention if the action is performed by flat, unoriginal actors. Our music video is only going to have one character in it so the casting process wasnt very long. We wanted someone who could have an intellectual look about them while also maintaining a serious look with confidence. None of us have any acting experience so we instantly ruled out the idea of one of our group doing it. We also think that acting in music videos is in some ways harder than in films as you don't have any lines or speech so all of the emotions that you want a actor to portray have to be through facial expression and body language. Other things that we were looking for in an actor was someone who was easily accessible and reliable. We have a few friends in our schools drama department that would've been up for it but they would have questionable reliability. Luckily we have a family member who has experience with acting and this is ideal as reliability would be very good so we decided to go with him as a main protagonist. He fits all the criteria that we want with all the acting experience of an A at A Level Drama. We used the same guy for our AS Film so we know what he could do having seen it first hand; for us this decision was a no brainer.
