The advert is centred around the brand ‘Absolut’ which is a
brand of Vodka and Absolut partnered with Swedish house mafia to market their
song ‘Greyhound’ and they further released a brand of alcohol under the song
titles name which they called ‘Absolut Greyhound’ and they also released a
cocktail under the song and alcohols combined name. The drink is centred on the
right page with also the main animals from the song and what the song is based
around the breed of dog Greyhound. The three artists are also featured over the
two feature length page advert and they are positioned walking towards the
camera. Their body language is very open and looks very masculine the way they
are walking towards the camera looking very tough.
The background of the advert is the setting which is used in
the music video which is a sort of salt plains type of area and the mechanical
dogs are also from the music video. The music video ties in with this magazine
advert as the clothing of the three artists is matching from the video, the
setting and the mechanical robot dogs. The clothing that the three artists are wearing is the clothing that they wear from the music video and this is leather jackets with black t-shirt and black trousers. The clothing is very casual which says for someone looking at the artists for the first time that they are casual laidback people which do not care about their appearance more than their music. Their music is empowering and critics say that their music as a trio has the power to enlighten a large crowd of people in a stadium or at a festival.
The colour palette used on this advert is a very light colour palette with greys, blues and whites. This keeps the advert more appealing for the reader and highlights the drink even more in the advert as this is a promotional tie in with the company Absolut. The drink is highlighted as it is in a more vibrant and different colour to the rest of the whole advertisement and it draws your eye attention.
The text ‘Absolut Greyhound’ is written in a bold Sans Serif font on a white background and the text is coloured orange alone with the oranges in the main advert and underneath it is written ‘Cocktails Perfected’ in a serif font which looks like calligraphy which gives the image that their cocktails are perfection and of a high class. Both of these texts are written at the bottom left of the advert and both on a white background which cuts off the main image ¾ ways off the page.
On the right side of the page it has the artists name as a trio ‘A drink with new music from Swedish House Mafia’ these are written in black text and in a sans serif font but there is a clear width difference in the text, the words ‘A drink with new music’ is written in very thing and fine line font as it is not the main attraction of that area of the page whereas the words ‘Swedish House Mafia’ are written in a bold as they want to attract the viewer’s eye attention there. With the white strip being at the bottom of the page where both sides of the page have written text on it gives a nice contrast from all the text to make the text vibrant and stand out.
Absolut Vodka is considered to be a high class drink as it is not like any other ordinary vodka brands because of the variety of vodka’s they have and the many promotional tie-ins they do with their products just like this advert. The Absolut vodka brand name combined with the age for the drink which is a mature drink gives the image to the person viewing the advert for the first time that these artists are mature and of a high class just like the drink that they are advertising.
